The Mid Texas Conference of Global Methodists is looking for volunteer teams to help rebuild in San Angelo after severe flooding.
You can support families affected by the Texas Hill Country flood in San Angelo by helping with the rebuild efforts. Texans on Mission volunteer teams will be assisting with:
- Rebuilding homes.
- Installing sheetrock and insulation.
- Light construction.
- Encouraging and praying with people.
- Sharing the Gospel.
Details:
Important Note: Must be at least 18 years old to serve.
When: Available dates are Monday-Friday from Oct. 20-Nov. 14. Service days begin at 7:30 a.m. and typically ends at 4 p.m.
Experience: Construction experience is preffered but not needed to volunteer. Each team will have a minimum of one or two skilled participants who have experience in construction work.
Clothing: Please wear closed-toe shoes, long pants (no shorts), long-sleeved shirts, and clothes you don't mind getting dirty. Also, bring a cap and sunscreen for protection from the sun.
What you need to bring: Texans on Mission will provide all the tools and drinks. Please bring work gloves if you have them. Dinner is provided, but there is limited ability to meet special dietary needs. If you have dietary restrictions, please plan accordingly. We will sleep on the floor of a gym, so bring a twin-sized cot and bedding.
Transportation and lodging: You are responsible for your transportation to the work site. Housing at host church available pending background check approval.
